Mid-Year Check

July 1st, 2012.  Half of the year has passed.  How am I doing on my challenges?

Challenge #1: Run at least a mile every day this year.  CHECK!  I've run at least a mile every day for the 183 days this year!

Challenge #2:  Run 1212 miles this year.  So far I am on track and doing great.  I've logged a total of 871 miles for an average of 4.75 miles a day.

I am doing pretty good in other aspects of my running life.  After having a fabulous May celebrating my 40th birthday and gaining too much weight, I've buckled down, put myself on a 1300 calorie diet and I am about 3 pounds away from racing weight.

Marathon training is also going well. I am running at least 2 weekends a month with the Marathon Clinic and keeping up with my homework.  Homework is to run 2 times a week for 90 minutes or 3 times a week for 60 minutes.  Our LSD Sundays are up to 12 miles and I am enjoying it.

Race-wise I have an 8K scheduled for July in two weeks then some longer ones to train for the Marathon.  I will also be doing the Susan Komen Race with my girls again.

I am trying to get the cross training back into my schedule so that I can build muscle and get stronger.  I am hoping to add some Zumba into the mix once a week and do my arms and abs rep at least twice a week.

With one month left of summer I am hoping to get a few more family hikes in as well as time at the beach.  With busy schedules it's going to be a challenge, but I am up for that!!!
